LG Chem is set to supply batteries to electric vehicles of Chrysler, one of the three largest car makers in the U.S.
The nation's battery maker said on Monday it would provide batteries to the American auto maker's PHEV mini-van Pacifica due to be mass produced from the year end.
The volume of the batteries to be installed is 16kWh and set to be produced in a plant located in Michigan.
LG Chem has been recognized for its quality by supplying total pack comprised of diverse parts including battery cells and battery management system.
Through the deal, LG Chem has secured hundreds of billions of won in sales and is also expected to earn more contracts down the road via the technology cooperation between the two firms.
