The nation's largest steel maker POSCO said it would participate in a motor show in Detroit, which kicks off on Jan. 11 to run until Jan. 24.
This is the first time that a steel maker joins the world's big four motor show.
POSCO said on Sunday it would showcase its 30 technologies for future vehicles at the North American International Auto Show. This will be ideal steel car body, which has the world class car steel sheet, the company said.
Industry insiders said the company plans to maximize its marketing effects with its technical prowess at the show where key car makers' heads will join.
The company said the weight of the steel car body is 26.4 percent lighter than that of mid-sized cars.
POSCO is also slated to unveil its marquee technologies TWIP and HPF(Hot Press Forming) at the show.
